Ashley and Chandra met in the fall of 2015 through an organization supporting LGBT+ students. Since then they've cultivated a deep and meaningful bond, traveled to exciting new places, and maintained a healthy long-distance relationship.

“On November 6, 2015, Ashley slid into my GroupMe DM’s and the rest was history. She reached out to welcome me as a new member of Out For Business (a Ross organization for LGBT+ BBA/MBA students and allies) and we finally met each other on November 22nd for LGBTurkey Day (a Friendsgiving event for OFB members). That was the beginning of our friendship. We reconnected at a frat mixer that January. That night, we both realized two things: (1) the heteronormativity of frat parties was muted when we were together, and (2) there was a spark. In April, we made our relationship official, and slowly Ash began to come out on campus. That was almost 3 years ago. We’ve traveled the country together, with stops in Atlanta, Denver, Orlando, and Maui, and also visited Canada. We’ve lived together in Ann Arbor and in NYC only a couple blocks from the historic Stonewall Inn. Today, Ash is working full-time in Chicago and I’m finishing up my senior year before heading to NYC. Although we'll be long-distance for at least another year while pursuing different careers in different cities, we recognize this struggle is only temporary and are excited to continue to write our story, build our partnership, and grow as individuals.”
